𝗘𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴

𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝟭: Application for grant of patent.

 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝟮: Complete specification, which includes the description, 

 claims, abstract, and drawings.

 Prescribed Government Fees.

𝗗𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀

𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽: Must be submitted within 1 month of 

filing.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿: Required within 6 months of filing.

𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝟯 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀: Details of corresponding foreign applications must be furnished within 6 months of filing the Indian application.

𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗶𝗳 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲): Required within 3  months if a patent agent is used.

𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: Required if the application claims priority from  an earlier filed application.

 𝗦𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀: Mandatory for biotechnology inventions.

𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: An annual statement required after the patent  has been granted.

𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Must adhere to the prescribed format.

𝗗𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀: Must be prepared in black ink.

𝗔𝗯𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁: Cannot exceed 150 words.

𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

𝗠𝗦𝗠𝗘 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲: Required if the applicant is claiming a fee reduction based on their status (e.g., as a Micro, Small, or Medium Enterprise).

𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴: Needed if the invention was first developed in India and subsequent foreign filing is necessary.
