In continuation of FAQ series on the subject matter of "𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗣 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗪𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 - 𝗔𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱", here is the nineteenth question is answered below in the series. 

Here are the steps for the patent filing:

𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟭: 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

Prepare a complete or provisional specification including a detailed description, drawings, and claims.

𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟮: 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

File Form 1 (application) along with Form 2 (specification).

Filing can be done online or offline with the prescribed fees.

𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟯: 𝗔𝗰𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁

Receive an acknowledgment and a filing receipt with the application number.

𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟰: 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

File the Request for Examination (Form 18) within 31 months from the priority date.

𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟱: 𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

The Patent Office conducts an examination and issues the First Examination Report (FER).

𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟲: 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲

Respond to any objections within the prescribed time or attend a hearing.

𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟳: 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

If the application is accepted, it is published in the Patent Office Journal.

𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟴: 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁

The patent is granted after compliance with all requirements.

𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:

•  Submit Form 3 details.

•  Provide proof of right.

•  Submit a declaration of inventor-ship.

•  Provide a power of attorney (if applicable).
