 • Yes you can use the ™ symbol as soon as you file a trademark 


 application. This symbol indicates that you are claiming trademark 


 rights and serves as a warning to others.



 • You must never use the ® symbol until your trademark is officially 


 registered and you have received the registration certificate.



 • Using the ® symbol without a registered trademark is illegal under


 Section 107 of the Trade Marks Act and can lead to penalties.



 • The ® symbol signifies that a trademark is officially registered and 


 has legal protection. You should only switch from using ™ to ® after


 receiving your official registration certificate.
